Tone is the only thing we score with a number. Consonants and vowels get words, not scores — a number there would be dishonest.

Record a word and see a score per syllable, not one number for the whole thing. A tone contour is drawn against the target so you can see where you drifted, not just that you did.
No fake precision. Initials and finals get plain-language notes from the speech model — what it heard, what to move — never a number. We tried scoring them; the model rated almost anything in the nineties, including clips it misheard. So we removed the number instead of shipping a lie.
